7th BRICS Legal Forum takes place online on 18-19 November 2020

The event is hosted by the Association of Lawyers of Russia.
Among the key topics: law and legal order: values and principles in the context of global challenges of modernity; legal profession and modern challenges; law in the age of the digital transformation of society; new paradigms of international commercial dispute resolution; Legal regulation of sports and protection of the athletes’ rights.
In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, of particular importance are the joint activities on legislative initiatives in the sphere of social protection, health, legal assistance and policies supporting citizens and business. The BRICS Legal Forum will become a platform for exchanging of experience and ideas, strengthening the rule of law, improving international law, and enhancing the prestige of the legal profession.
The Forum will be attended by President of the Bar Association of India Prashant Kumar, President of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association Claudio Lamachia, Vice President of the China Law Society Zhang Mingqi, President of the Law Society of South Africa Mvuzo Notyesi, Chairperson of the Legal Practice Council of South Africa Kathleen Dlepu, Chairman of the Association of Lawyers of Russia Vladimir Pligin, Rector of the Saint-Petersburg State University Nikolai Kropachev and other experts.
The main objective of the Forum is to promote legal support for economic cooperation, implementation of major infrastructure projects and development of international financial and legal institutions.
The Forum will result in the adoption of the Declaration setting the key areas of legal cooperation among the BRICS Member States.
Interpretation is provided in English, Russian, Chinese and Portuguese.
