FINANCIAL SECTOR TRANSFORMATION IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE BRICS COUNTRIES

On September 2, the International BRICS Competition Law and Policy Centre in cooperation with ICEF and the Faculty of Economic Sciences held an open discussion-lecture entitled “Financial Sector Transformation in Latin America and the BRICS Countries” for students and faculty. 

The keynote speaker was João Bezerra Leite, a guru of the Brazilian financial industry and head of fintech at Bossa Invest, the largest microventure capital fund in Latin America.

The discussion was moderated by Alexey Ivanov, Director of the International BRICS Competition Law and Policy Centre.

João Bezerra Leite has more than 35 years of experience in the technology, payments and banking industries in Brazil. Served as Executive Director at Itau Unibanco, the largest bank in Latin America, where he held several executive positions. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Instituto Mauá de Tecnologia and extension courses from Columbia Business School, Wharton, Swiss Finance Institute, Insper, FGV, Alibaba Business School and Singularity University (US)

He is currently a fintech mentor and investor, a D&I advocate and serves in several Advisory Boards
